Between January 1,2021 - July 20, 2021 428 firearms have been seized and 418 individuals havebeen arrested for weapons related offenses
All uniformed units are focusing efforts on being proactivein our community, which means solving crimes before they occur. Getting guns out of the hands of thosepersons who illegally possess them is the primary goal of SPD’s proactiveenforcement efforts.
Recruiting Unit
The Recruiting Unit is focused on attracting qualified menand women to join the ranks of the Shreveport Police Department and to “be thechange” in our community. SPD has open positions for police officer,jailer, police communication officers and more.

EmergencySupplemental Patrol
The Emergency Supplemental Patrol program assigns everyofficer/corporal to a squad. The six squads are assigned to week-longrotations where officers/corporals work in a patrol capacity, as needed, toensure there are an adequate number of officers out patrolling streets. Often times, these officers are working shifts in addition to their normaldaily assignments and in excess of their 40 hour work-week.
Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers
Crime Stoppers paid out $48,000 in cash rewards over thepast 12 months. Tips have helped solve 10 homicides, 3 attempted homicides, 6armed robberies and dozens of thefts and burglaries. To anonymously provide atip call 318-673-7373
